[so, slowly but surely he's revealing himself as being Dean Winchester to the rest of his Smallville friends, and one of those people turned out to be Mrs. Kent. Thankfully, she took it well -- she just decided to hold it over his head by putting him to work.

To be honest, he didn't mind. It was something to do when Lana wasn't around, and he liked the old house. It reminded him of home, but in a good way.

He decided to start with the yard work today, raking up the leaves into piles for him to put into bags and move off the lawn. And for the most part, he thinks he's alone.

Thinks being the operative word.]

[Raya didn't really know Dean. She came to Earth years after he'd gone and was buried underneath mounds of snow not long after that. Their paths had crossed only a few times since her return to the living, but nothing really significant.

Right now might be a good time to change that.

She had a habit of dropping by the farm every now and then, dropping out of superspeed from far enough away not to be seen by any visitors and walked the rest of the way. It was a chance to stop and enjoy everything around her more thoroughly.

She really loved this planet.

This time her approach included running, though at a more normal speed. There was a big pile of crunchy fallen leaves waiting to be jumped into.]

[he looks up when he hears the sound of running footsteps, and since she's coming RIGHT towards him, and doesn't seem to be slowing down, his hands go up in front of him and he looks a little nervous]

No -- wait. Hold on a sec --

[She ignores him and jumps into the pile, laughing as she does so.

Pft, Dean. You shouldn't worry so much.]

[he doesn't know whether to be amused or annoyed]

I was raking those, yanno.

[props herself up on her hands]

It won't take much effort to rake them again.

[chuckles as he reaches down to extend a hand to help her up]

Point. I'm Dean. You're ... Clark's friend, right?

[nods and takes the hand up, even though she doesn't need it]

Raya.

[and now she'll be picking a few leaves out of her hair]

[nods]

I don't see you around here much. Do you live out of town?

[hestillsavesmylife]

I may as well. I spend most of my time in Metropolis.

[hasperkynipples]

Metropolis. Nice city.

[hestillsavesmylife]

Not as nice as it is here.

You prefer the wide open pastures?

[hestillsavesmylife]

I enjoy watching the seasons change. It's not as easy to do in the city.

That's true. The city kind of makes it all one thing.

When winter comes, I'm building an ice castle.

[sure, she's kinda already got one, but details]

[She leaves and returns with said rake, starting her work immediately.]

[works with her, getting all the leaves back into a pile before going to find the bags.]

[she waits for him, of course. she's going to help him finish the job]

[hands her one of the bags when he comes back, before shaking the second open and starting to shovel the leaves into it]
